Halloween & Horror Masks - BOO!

When the 31st October approaches, it's time to think about transforming yourself into an incredibly frightening being for one night. But why do we actually dress up? And why do we celebrate Halloween? Time for a short history lesson:

People celebrated this festival over 2500 years ago, and at that time it was still called “Samhain”. It was believed that on Halloween night, the dead would come back to visit their living relatives. The spirits were led back to earth with the help of lights (sounds believable right). Over time, the custom of the festival was changed.

The Irish, who brought the festival; which we know today under the name “Halloween”, to the USA and Canada in the 19th century, were afraid of the dead and therefore disguised themselves with creepy masks to keep the ghosts of their ancestors away.

Nowadays Halloween is especially loved by little ones. “Trick or Treating” (if you are unfamiliar with this term), is when kids go from house to house to collect sweets. But the adults don't let the kids enjoy all of the creepy fun. In 2020, Heidi Klum will be celebrating her famous Halloween party for the 21st time. Numerous celebrity guests are expected again and every year Heidi surprises guests with unique costumes. For example, in recent years she has dressed up as a Werewolf, as Comic Heroine Jessica Rabbit, as a Grandma, or as an eight-armed Indian Goddess. It will be interesting to see which costume she will wear for her 21st Halloween party. Maybe she will decide on one of our spectacular Halloween Masks

Halloween Masks - still as popular as ever!

So you want to terrify everyone on Halloween with your frightening look but don't want to put on Make-up? Then follow the tradition of the Irish and simply disguise yourself with a Creepy Mask.  Turn into a Werewolf,  Devil, or some other gruesome figure that sparks terror. It's up to you what you want to be, but if you can't make up your mind, just choose a character from your favourite horror film:

  • The Walking Dead Mask
  • Scream Mask
  • Jigsaw Mask
  • Michael Myers Mask
  • Pennywise 'IT' Mask

Our range of Masks

Our huge selection of Halloween Masks is ideal to spice up your Halloween Costume and they also look extremely realistic!

When choosing the right Halloween Mask, you should note that there are different types of masks. For example, there are Full Face Masks that cover the entire face and usually only have small holes to peer out of. Nobody will recognise you so you can fully blossom into your new role.

For most, however, wearing a mask is very unfamiliar and sometimes you feel a little restricted. We therefore recommend you wear a Half Mask. It only covers the upper half of the face up to and including the nose and the mouth remains free. So you can still disguise your identity, but you are less restricted.

If this is still too uncomfortable, there are also super cool Eye Masks. These only cover the area around the eyes, but are still a real eye-catcher (no pun intended). They are either fastened with a band around the head or have a stick with which to hold.
