Day of the Dead Decoration Ideas

Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a Mexican Festival which is celebrated from the 31st October till 2nd November. During this time, it is believed that the souls of loved ones will return to Earth. And in order to receive these loved ones properly, everything is adorned with great Day of the Dead Decorations. Sugar Skulls are baked, the national alcoholic drink (Tequila), is distilled. There are also large banquets and dancing to loud music to welcome the dead souls.

What do Day of the Dead Decorations include?

The focus of Day of the Dead Decorations are the offrendas. These are funeral altars upon which everything can be found that the souls need to regain strength after the long journey from the afterlife. In addition, the streets of Mexico City are adorned with great Day of the Dead Deco.

Colorful Skeletons and Sugar Skull Decorations are hung everywhere and the most famous Dia de los Muertos skeleton, 'La Catrina', can be found on almost every street corner in Mexico during the festivities.
