Hanukkah Decorations in Blue, White & Silver!

Find fantastic Hanukkah Decorations for dazzling celebrations right here @ Party365!

Ok, time for a little background - Hanukkah or Chanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a Jewish Festival that is celebrated annually in November / December. The Festival takes place on the 25th day of the Jewish month of Kislew and lasts a total of eight days. Because the Jewish Calendar is different from the Gregorian Calendar, the Festival is celebrated at a different time each year! During the eight days the Jews celebrate the liberation of their people, the second consecration of their second temple in Jerusalem and a miracle of light!

With our great Hanukkah Decorations in the traditional colours of blue, white and silver, you can decorate your eight-day festival of lights in a truly wonderful way.

Why is Hanukkah celebrated?

Almost 2000 years ago the Jewish people were oppressed by a Greek ruler. The Greeks wanted the Jews to give up their religion and instead took over the Jewish temple! However, a smaller group of Jews did not want to give up and rebuilt their temple during a break in fighting. At the inauguration, however, a new problem was discovered - an eternal light must burn permanently in every temple. This eternal light signifies that God is present! The small group of Jews only had a small bottle of oil with which the seven flames of the Menorah Candle would not even have burned for a day. But as if by a miracle, the seven lights burned for a whole eight days, right up to the point in time when replacement oil was brought. Because of the miracle of the ever-burning candles, the Hanukkah Festival also lasts for eight days!

Choosing your Hanukkah Decorations

The eight-day Festival of Hanukkah is usually spent at home with family. In the morning the Jewish Children go to school and their parents to work. Later in the day, when it gets dark, the Hanukkah Candles are lit. A Menorah is an eight or nine-armed Candlestick and is the main symbol of the holiday. The ninth candle in the middle is called the 'servant's candle', and the other Candles are lit from here. Every day another Candle is lit until all candles are lit on the last day of Hanukkah! It should be noted that the Candles must burn for at least half an hour. While the candles are burning, nobody is allowed to work and the Candle itself is not allowed to perform any special task. It should only be observed!

In order to give the festivities a very special ambience, the apartment or house is decorated with suitable Hanukkah or 'Chanukkah' Decorations in typical blue, white or silver to represent the Israeli flag. Whether you decide upon Garlands, Confetti, Balloons or Tea Lights - in iridescent silver and bright blue every room shines with special Hanukkah ambience!

In addition to the Candles, Fairy Lights are also suitable to light up a room. The indirect light creates a cosy atmosphere and brings a sparkle to your celebrations.

Our Hanukkah Decorations are available in blue, white and silver, and also contains many traditional Jewish symbols such as the Star of David, a Menorah Candlestick or a Dreidel.

We wish you a brilliant Hannukah Festival and many happy returns - Shalom!
