St. Martin's Day Lanterns - Light up the Night!

When the early nights start closing in around Autumn, St.Martin's Day Lanterns are a great way for the Kids to stay entertained. But what significance do the glowing St. Martin's Lanterns actually have?

St. Martin's Day is celebrated annually on November 11th. In 397, on this day the burial of St. Martin took place. St. Martins Lanterns are supposed to bring light into the darkness and thus remind one of the good deeds that this Saint carried out during his life. As a result, in many European countries such as Germany, you will see small Lantern Walks taking place at night. This cute tradition involves groups of Children and their parents parading the streets with their colourful paper lanterns and singing in unison.

In addition to colourful St. Martins Lanterns which come in different shapes and colours, you can also find great Lantern Sticks in our Online Shop. And if a real candle is too dangerous for your Little Ones, then it's best to choose one of our Electric Lantern Sticks with LED light.

Matching costumes for the Lantern Festival

Many of our Saint Martin's Theme Lanterns are printed with popular children's motifs - Paw Patrol, Unicorns or Pirates - there is something for every Child. And if you really want to make your children's light up, we recommend a suitable Costume.

We believe our Lanterns fit perfectly to other celebrations and holidays such as Christmas Nativity Plays & Bonfire Night. Check them out now!
